Funky Ducklings

Ducks fly together getting at their destinations all at once so the fact that my fabulous online critique group is called the Funky Ducklings is absolutely perfect. We started out as just a critique group but we've become so much more. We're a support, critique, cry with each other, laugh with each other, fly with each other, fall with each other, bestest friends group. I'm so grateful to have these ladies in my life.

Anne Marie Pace I think out of all of us ducks, as a writer 'the google queen' is the most literary and her technique is the most solid. Anne Marie is the duck in the group who I look up to most - in her writing skills and as a person.

Cassandra Reigel Whetstone This foodie is not only one of the smartest people I know, she's one of the most dedicated. I admire her ability to do the so many things she does and hold it all together. I'm so glad to have her in my life and once she finds her groove watch out because this duck soars.

Shelly Becker Hiding behind the serious face of Shelly Becker is a quick wit and a dynamic rhymer. Her meter is always dead on and her rhyme perfect. She always ready to share information with the group and newer writers.

Katy Duffield One of the nicest ducks in the pond, Katy pretends she's quiet but we know different, and being in a group filled with snark we are slowly pulling her out of her shell. Her picture books get me laughing so hard, family members have come in my office to make sure I haven't cracked and her non- fiction is actually interesting.

Tanya Seale If Miss Snark thinks she's got something over this girly girl she's wrong. Not only can tg snark with the best of them she can write with the best of them. Her characters are well developed and engaging. Once you pick up one of her books you won't be able to put it down.

Kristy Dempsey Kristy is as sweet as Katy is nice , though I think some of that might be an act... okay maybe not. She's sweet. Her rhyme is dead on and so is her meter. She can weave words together so beautifully you have to pause to catch your breath. Her writing often brings tears to my eyes whether it's a picture book or a novel. This lady is going to fly far fast.
